Israel is hot in the summer. Winter is cold and wet. Air-conditioning
and heating are not always available.
The mountains of Jerusalem as well as the southern Negev desert can
be hot during the day and chilly in the late evening. Winter snow in Jerusalem is not uncommon.
Much of Israel is dusty
and there are sometimes sandstorms in the Negev region. The terrain is rocky and uneven throughout the country and there are
not many places that are wheelchair accessible.
