What Not to Pack
| Item | |
| Scissors, knives, etc. | Do not carry on items considered “weapons”
by airport security. |
| Too many “just in case” items
| You will be transporting your luggage primarily by yourself through possibly
crowded places. Consider how much you can carry on your own. If you will be in Israel for an extended period, you may
want to buy some items (like toiletries) in country. |
| Luggage over 44 lbs. | If you have an
extended layover (more than a day) in another country on your way to Israel you may be limited to 20 kilograms (44 lbs.) of
luggage plus a carry-on on the second leg of the flight. Check with the airlines about weight allowance before packing. |
| Items
that you usually carry in your wallet that are not needed in Israel. | Leave the department
store credit cards and Blockbuster membership card at home. No reason to risk losing something that you wouldn’t
even use here. |
| Travelers Checks | Most
shops do not accept travelers checks, bring your credit card, and ATM card, and some dollars |
